The Poulsbo Noon Lions Club is dedicated to helping those in need, and to creating an environment that allows our members to enrich their own lives by helping others. The Poulsbo Lions Club is just one of 44,947 in the International Association of Lions Clubs, a volunteer service organization with more than 1.4 million members in 200 countries and geographic areas. Lions raise funds and give their time freely to help the less fortunate. Although our primary objective is to stop world blindness, we do other activities to stop deafness, diabetes, drug and alcohol dependency, famine, aid in natural disaster relief, and much more. Our club chartered the NK Vikings L.E.O. Club at North Kitsap High School in 1999. Membership is open to all students at the High School. The club meets every Thursday during the school year, and participates in many community service projects. In 2005 the Poulsbo Junior High LEO club was founded with nearly 40 members. In 2007 the New Kingston High School started day 1 with a LEO club ready to serve. Also in 2007 we started an evening club, the Evening Pride Branch, so that community members that can't or prefer not to attend weekly noon meetings can still join, participate, and serve. |
